With full awareness that everyone has their good and bad days, I write this post to share with you some tips on how to live a happy life. The following tips contains effortless things you can do to reduce general stress and make life just a little be better.


  1. Live in the now Leave tomorrow’s worry for tomorrow. Happy girls don’t dwell on the past or get anxious about the future.  Doing that robs the joy of the present from you and all the fun you could be having.
  2. Forgive Holding on to something burdens the heart and soul. When you don’t forgive it puts you in a dark place where you are constantly thinking of a negative event and it weighs you down eventually. Forgiveness sets you free from these thoughts.
  3. Drink lots of water Having about 2 litres of water per day is said to raise your energy levels and of course with more energy comes more zeal to do fun stuff.
  4. Wake up and go to bed early Going to bed early improves your quality of sleep and makes it easier to wake up early. When you wake up early, you achieve a lot more and complete tasks you’ve set out to do. Achievement leads to happiness.
  5. Compliment people When we compliment others, it makes them happy and I don’t know about you but when I’m the reason of someone else’s happiness then I am happy too. It has to be genuine and from the heart though, if you feel it say it.
  6. Practice gratitude Gratitude is said to improve mental health.  It relieves us of negative and toxic feelings ranging from jealousy, bitterness, regrets and such.  Expression of gratitude increases happiness and feeling of empathy towards others.
  7. Eat breakfast everyday A healthy breakfast gives you energy boost to start your day and reduce morning crankiness. I’m a big believer of starting your day right to end it right. A positive mind-set from morning will flow into the rest of the day.
  8. Learn how to say no Saying no is an essential tool for your well-being and happiness. Being on the receiving end of ‘no’ may be brutal but you can’t say yes to everything either. If something isn’t going to make you happy you have to say no.
  9. Smile and laugh as much as you can Smiling naturally can help you relieve stress and anxiety because it releases endorphin into the bloodstream which are chemicals that makes you happier. Be around people that care about you and you’re guaranteed a million smiles every time. 
  10. Decide to be happy Yes. Happiness really is a choice. You are the master of your feeling and emotions and what you decide is what you will have. You have to make a choice to stay away from whatever troubles your mind and cause you sadness.
